Oakmoss Absolute Oil is extracted from the usually Green Lichen that grows mainly on the Trunks of Oak Trees. It is obtained by the Solvent Extraction method and belongs to the Fungi Kingdom. It is also known as Moss Oil and is generally used as a fixative in the perfume industry. Along with its, earthy aroma and base notes, it is also a natural beautification agent that tightens skin and has restorative properties.
Oakmoss Absolute is a resin at room temperature and has a strong earthy, dry and bark-like aroma. It is primarily used in Perfumery as a fixative, that prevents evaporation and solidifies perfume. It is also a beauty agent that has immense healing qualities, it can be added to skin care regimes to defy signs of ageing. It is also a basic expectorant that provides comfort in breathing and is added to diffusers and steaming oils. Its antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties are beneficial in treating infections and skin allergies. Its friendly and calming aroma is added to scented candles and potpourri to calm the environment and promote relaxation. It can be added to room fresheners and diffusers for its pleasing smell. The great smell which is pleasing to humans repels insects and bugs and is an excellent insecticide.

Recommended Usage Rate: Absolutes are extremely concentrated in nature and if to be applied on the skin or body, should always be diluted up to a maximum dosage of 4% in a suitable carrier oil.
Formulation Guidelines:
Highly concentrated, the below usage rates are recommended:
-Gels, Toners, Astringents or high water-based products:
--0.5% for acne-prone, sensitive and dry skin
--1% for oily and combination skin
-Creams, Oil Serum, Balms
--1% for dry, sensitive and acne-prone skin
--2% for oily and combination skin
-Hair Oil: upto 4%
-Liquid Shampoo, Soaps,
Facewash and Bodywash: 2- 3%
Storage: It is recommended that oils packaged in containers (for safe shipping) be transferred into dark glass containers to maintain freshness and attain maximum shelf life. Store in a cool, dry place; away from sunlight. This product has no added preservatives and the user is advised to add their own preservatives as per their end product requirements.
Caution: This is a cosmetic-grade product. Not suitable for internal consumption. This product is not recommended for babies & pregnant women. Batch Production Testing and Patch Skin Testing of the end products are recommended for all formulations before mass production/application/usage. User is requested to refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet to understand the usage and application of the product.
